Dr. Mayer Landau, Patent Attorney

Dr. Mayer Landau bridges the gap between complex physical science and high-stakes patent law. He holds a JD (cum laude) from the University of New Mexico School of Law, alongside an unparalleled academic foundation, culminating in a PhD in Optics from the prestigious Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Landau served as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). His legal strategy is deeply informed by decades of hands-on research, engineering, and laboratory leadership at America's premier scientific institutions:

National Laboratories

Conducted nuclear physics research at Los Alamos (LAMPF), developed low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopes at Brookhaven, and specialized in cleanroom nanofabrication at Sandia National Laboratories (CINT).

Defense & Aerospace

Developed high-power CO₂ lasers and X-band antennas at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and led the optical design for the Air Force’s 24-kilometer slant-range laser communication network.

AFRL & Labs

Built advanced research facilities at the Air Force Research Laboratory dedicated to pulsed terahertz radiation, metamaterial structures, and atomic physics/squeezed light systems.

Academia & Fabrication

Served as an Electrical Engineering Research Professor at the University of New Mexico, leveraging ten years of cleanroom nanofabrication expertise via UNM's Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM).
